Boston Marathon Explosions: A Personal Theological Response

Boston marathon Finish line

Two verses always hit me in evil times

(1) Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

God is always with us

(2) Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever.

Galatians 1:3-5

Christ has already conquered evil in the long haul. Ultimate victory against evil comes from the light of Christ. Lets wrap ourselves in His goodness and press onwards in faith.

These moments test our resolve and shake our foundations.  Take some time to press into God with prayer for Boston, prayer for our world that continues to deal with the consequences of a Sinful Nature, and call out to God in repentance for what each one of us has done to harm others.  The Revolution of Mankind against evil and destruction continues.  Let’s make sure that we are filled with the Light of God and can give hope to those who are just barely hanging on!
